Ferries to Belfast and Larne.

Logan Botanical Gardens.

Logan Botanical Gardens are 14 miles south of Stranraer, at the south-western tip of Scotland, and it is unrivalled as the country’s most exotic garden. Because of the influence of the Gulf Stream, a remarkable collection of bizarre and beautiful plants flourishes outside, making this garden a plantsman’s paradise.

Mull of Galloway.

The Mull of Galloway which is the setting for the BBC series Two Thousand Acres of Sky is Scotland's most southerly point and is one of its least known parts, remaining an unspoiled paradise for visitors seeking peace and tranquility. Ardwell Gardens.

Ardwell Gardens are 10 miles south of Stranraer.The walled garden grows a large variety of summer bedding plants and produce, including potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries, all available for purchase.  A walk around the largest pond (approximately half an hour) gives fine views over Luce Bay. Ardwell Gardens are naturally unspoilt and provide visitors with an idyllic location for a gentle walk.

Castle Kennedy Gardens.

Castle Kennedy Gardens are extensively landscaped with terraces, mounds and avenues, all of which were created by men and horses, and extend to more than 30 hectares. I hope you will enjoy using this site, and that you will find the gardens interesting. You may even wish to plan a visit to the gardens when you are next in the South West of Scotland.

Wigtown.

Wigtown, Scotland’s book town, shopping can be a relaxing day out.  Easy access and easy parking in the town’s wide streets and market square, shopping is a pleasure in Wigtown.  It’s an easy stroll round bookshops, gift shops, cafes and inns.

Portpatrick.

Portpatrick is nearly as far west as you can go in Southern Scotland, and nearly as far south as you can go in Western Scotland. So reaching it can involve a lot of travelling. But don't let that put you off. Portpatrick is a stunningly attractive village wrapped around a fascinating harbour, and well worth the trip wherever you are coming from.

Walkers Delight.

Eating Out.

If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Stranraer The Waterline pub serves food until 8pm.   For eating later we would recommend The Sun Kai if you like Chinese food and for something a bit more special The L'Aperitif, but it is advisable to book (essential at weekends) Tel 01776 702991.
